Product Evaluation
The purpose of this evaluation is for you to look back at all the different tasks you carried
during the production of your project. Make Honest and Fair comments about your performance.
If you did not finish your product, include notes of all the areas you did not cover.
Write in factual sentences, "The product was... A file was used..." Do not use the first
person, "I did this..I made this..." Be accurate and you must write more than one line.
Write in complete sentences except where you are asked to make a list.
The use and correct spelling of Technical words will be marked.
- Explain why you had to make this product.
- Why did you chose the final design for your product.
- Did you like the designing part of this project?
- How did you set about planning to make your product?
- Did you stick to your time plan? If not, why not? What altered the timing?
- List the different steps you went through to make your product.
- List all the materials used.
- List all the tools and equipment used.
- Which tasks did you enjoy and explain why?
- Which tasks did you find easy and explain why?
- Which tasks did you dislike/find difficult and explain why?
- How did you overcome any problems that you faced?
- How does your product compare to other pupils' work?
- Ask others to make helpful comments about your finished product.
- Has your finished design changed from your final idea, if so, why?
- How accurately did you make your product? (compare with the drawing).
- How could you make a more accurately finished product?
- List any time where safety considerations were important.
- List all the new skills you learnt during making your product.
- Are you pleased with your finished product?
- What changes would you make if you had to produce another product?
- Produce ideas for future product development.
- If applicable. Give reasons why you did not finish making your product.
- How could you improve your performance next time?
- Explain how social and environmental issues effected your design.
Pick different evaluations for each project.
You will use some more than others.
Over the year, all of them should be used.
