Boardgame Groups
| 1 | Race Games. | The object is to reach some other part of the board with one or more pieces before your opponent. |
| 2 | War Games. | a. To destroy an opponents formation. b. Capture a specific piece. c. To occupy your opponents base. |
| 3 | Games of Position. | a. To occupy a particular square. b. To occupy a particular area. c. To occupy more area than your opponent. |
| 4 | Mancala. | Pebbles are placed in rows of cups. A player sows one cup of pebbles around the other cups. Pebbles are removed to a store. The game is lost when a player has less than 6 pebbles. |
| 5 | Calculation Games. | Counter have different numbers on their faces. Opponents can be removed by a combination of the number of squares to move multiplied by the face number. |
| 6 | Dice Games. | The symbol on the face of the dice makes yours or your opponents counter move in some way. Dice can be replaced by spinning tops, discs, flat sticks or other devices |
| 7 | Word Games. | The object is to score points by making up words from different letters. The position of the letters can also score points. |
